Max Caperton was a Light Weapons Infantryman

Private First Class Max L. Caperton Died as the result of missile wounds received in action.

Private First Class Caperton was a member of the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2ne Infantry Division. He was wounded in action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on August 16, 1950 and died of those wounds later that day. Private First Class Caperton was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, and the National Service Medal, and te National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidentia Unit Citation, nd the Republic of Korea War Service Medal
