Dorothy Schoenefeld, 95, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009. Born Feb. 24, 1913, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Bernard and Emma Schoenefeld. A longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, she lived her faith and believed that nothing last forever but the love of Jesus. She retired as a nurse from Lutheran Hospital in 1978. Dorothy was loved by all who knew her, and will be missed. "Aunt Do" is survived by three generations of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Aaron "Porky" Schoenefeld; and a sister, Arleen Hitzemann. No funeral or visitation will be held at Dorothy's request. A memorial service will be arranged at a later date. Memorial to Zion Lutheran Church, 2313 S. Hanna, Fort Wayne, IN 46803.
