Ollie E. Gray "Gene"

Funeral services honoring the life of Mr. Gene Gray, 85, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel with Pastor Troy Parker of Church at Red River officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2011 at the funeral home.

Mr. Gray was born in Mississippi but lived most of his life in Shreveport, LA. He was a WWII Veteran, proudly serving in the U.S. Navy, volunteering at the tender age of 17. Mr. Gray was of the Baptist faith and left this Earth on December 27, 2011 to be with his Savior and Heavenly Father.

Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his parents, all siblings, and most beloved son-in-law, John G. Young. Surviving Mr. Gray is his best friend and loving devoted wife of 64 years, Millie M. Gray; daughters, Linda G. Young, of Shreveport, LA, Judy Reynolds and husband, Dale of Hamburg, AR; son, Mike Gray and wife, Janie, of Bella Vista, AR; grandchildren, Liane "LeLe" of Shreveport, LA, Donyea Moore of Blanchard, LA, Lisa Shoalmire-Ross and husband, John, of Texarkana, TX. Jody Patton and husband, Michael, of Crossett, AR, Kristal King and husband, Keith, of Pea Ridge, AR, Melanie Gray of Bentonville, AR; great-grandchildren, Kiefer and Kyndal Moore, Samantha and Mason Shoalmire, Kaitlyn and Kimberly Patton, Lexxie and Landon King, Jullian and Kennedy Ross; special nephew, Jimmy Gray and wife, Gini of Sunnyvale, TX; brother-in-law, Chuck Henley of Shreveport. LA.

Mr. Gray was a cherished and loving husband, Daddy, Papa and great Papa. He will be forever missed and his wonderful legacy will live on.

Honoring Mr. Gray, as Pallbearers will be Kiefer Moore, Michael Patton, Keith King, John Ross, Kevin Gray and Andy Cummings. Honorary pallbearers are all grand and great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Holy Angels Residential Facility and or Church at Red River, both located in Shreveport, LA.

Ollie Eugene "Gene" Gray, enlisted in the US Navy on April 22, 1944, and was Honorably discharged on June 4, 1946. During his service he received the following medals: American Theater Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and the State of Louisiana Honor Medal.
