Illness Proves Fatal To Joseph B. Kisting

Joseph B. Kisting, 79, of 1705 Lincoln avenue, died at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday at Xavier hospital. He had been seriously ill since Christmas eve.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday at Behr's funeral home, from which services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday to Holy Trinity church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery.

Kisting was born May 9, 1870, near Benton, Wis., and came in 1921 to Dubuque, where he was employed for a number of years at the Carr, Adams, and Collier company.

He was a member of Holy Trinity church, the LaSalle court of the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Spanish American War veterans and the Holy Name society.

He was married Oct. 3, 1899, to Elizabeth Hying in St. Mary's church, Dubuque.

Surviving are the widow; five daughters, Mrs. Pearl Goldman, of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Freda Roussell, of Davenport, Ia.; Mrs. Harold (Loretta) Koenig and Mrs. Charles (Theresa) Myers, both of Dubuque, and Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Till, of Bellevue, Ia; four sons, Andrew J., Joseph F., Elmer T., and Eldon J. Kisting, all of Dubuque; two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Snyder and Miss Elizabeth Kisting, both of St. Paul, Minn.; one brother, Frank Kisting, of Dubuque; 26 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded by three daughters, one son, one sister and three brothers.
