Birth: 1856, USA
Death: Jun. 25, 1876
Little Big Horn Battle Site
Big Horn County
Montana, USA

Bull (Ho-cus-ta-rix) was an Arikara, who served as a US Army Scout with the 7th U.S. Cavalry. He was also a leader in the Grass Dance Society & a member of the tribal police.

He was described as 45 yrs old, blk, eyes, black hair, cooper complexion & 5'11" tall.

At the Battle of the Little Bighorn, Bull accompanied Maj Marcus Reno's battalion into the Valley Fight. Bull was killed during Reno's retreat from the valley. His horse with blood on the saddle was seen by several other scouts.

Though he has a marker on Reno's Bluff, witnesses claim Bull never crossed the river during the retreat and was killed on the west side of the Little Bighorn River.

Bull's name is also on the mass grave marker at the top of Last Stand Hill.
