Giles Eidson (31943010)

January 2021: Reporting the marker is now gone. The grass is bare now where the stone previously stood. This stone was beside a restaurant parking lot at 652 Concord Road, Smyrna, Georgia. The business has been closed a long while with the parking lot gate secured. Recently the front gate has been open at times. Searched the area by the parking lot, but sadly nothing was found.

Giles B. (prob. Brantley) Eidson, #89148937 (1846, GA - 1927, Oconee Co., GA; buried unk.), son of Henry Jenning (#31542300 and Nancy Landrum (#31542320). His parents are buried in the Jennings Family Cemetery, Athens (Clarke Co.), GA. He was given is name for Giles Brantley Eidson, C.S.A.

The book, "The First 100 years of Cobb County, Georgia" mentions that the Eidson family cemetery is located behind the fire station on Concord Road, Smyrna, Cobb Co., GA. Although other records, are saying that the cemetery is located in the "parking lot" of Howard's Restaurant. It's possible that the original fire station stood where the restaurant is today.
