Mary Julia nee Niederprum (Sept. 29, 1875-March 7, 1932 wife of Frederick Baer [1872-1953] –married May 19, 1896 at St. Gregory –daughter of Henry Niederprum and Julianna Gmeiner –born Town of Eaton –died from "apoplexy, hypertension and myocarditis")

St. Nazianz Woman Is Called To Rest
Mrs. Fred Baer, a well known resident of Manitowoc county, died at the family residence, two miles northwest of St. Nazianz, Monday at the age of 57. The funeral will be held Thursday morning with services at 10 o'clock at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Rev. Fintan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born Sept. 29, 1875, on a farm near St. Nazianz, Mrs. Baer had lived in the county all of her life. She was Mary Julia Niederprum before her marriage to Fred Baer in 1896. She was ill for some time but was believed to be on the road to recovery when struck by a stroke of apoplexy.
Surviving are the husband and ten children, Mrs. William Merkes and Miss Anna Baer, Chicago, Mrs. Clarence Escher, Kiel, Mrs. Arthur Stein, Meeme, Mrs. Henry Binversie, School Hill, Hildegard Baer, at home, Joseph, Newark, N.J., John living on farm near St. Nazianz, and Henry and Fred, at home. A brother, Matt Niederpriem and 12 grandchildren also survive. Deceased was a member of the Christian Mothers society and members of that organization will gather at the home this evening at 7:30.

With the death of Mrs. Fred Baer, which occured at an early hour Monday morning, this village has lost another well-known resident. Her death followed a stroke which she suffered about 5 weeks ago. She leaves to mourn her demise, her husband and ten children, as follows; Henry at home; Mrs. William (Theresia) Merkes of Chicago; Joseph of Newark, N. J.; John of here; Mrs. Clarence (Helen) Escher ofNew Holstein; Mrs. Henry (Elizabeth) Benverale of School Hill; Mrs. Arthur (Rose) Stein of Meeme; Miss Anna Baer of Chicago, and Fred and Hildegard at home. Funeral arrangements were not known at this writing.
