Funeral services for Elza Bailey 73, were held 2:30 p.m. today at the Methodist church with the Rev. H. Hugh Snider officiating. Burial was in Crown Hill cemetery.
Mr. Bailey died 9 p.m. Saturday at his home, 414 South Marietta, after a prolonged illness.
He was born July 19, 1878, at Camden, the son of James and Susie Brown Bailey. He was a retired coal miner and had lived in this city 17 years.
Elza Bailey was married to Miss Maggie Wade. He was a member of the local Methodist church.
Surviving are his widow of the home, Mrs. Maggie Bailey; three sons; Robert E. Bailey of North Kansas City, Charles A. Bailey of Moberly, Mo. and Harlold Bailey, Phoenix, Ariz.
Three daughters, Mrs. Lorene Parr, North Kansas City, Mrs. Temple Vollmert, Pampa, Tex., and Mrs. Mildred Talbot, North Kansas City; one brother, William Bailey, Camden; a sister, Mrs. Mary Thomas, Kansas City; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
