Son of Francesca and Antonio Tafoya. Husband to Emma Melgoza.

A Vigil Prayer service will be held Thursday at 6:30p.m. in the Mission Chapel of Ivers and Alcorn Funeral home for Tony S. Tafoya, 73, who died Tuesday in a Merced hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m in Our Lady of Mercy Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Born May 8, 1911 in Mexico, Mr. Tafoya live in Merced since 1929. He worked for the local nursery after selling Tony's Market which he owned and operated for 20 years. He was a member of the Merced County Sheriff's Posse.
Survivors include a daughter and son.
