Richard A. Schmidt, 75, retired farmer, died Wednesday, Aug. 13 in the Attica District Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Sarurday, Aug 16, at 10:00a.m. in St. Boniface Catholic Church with Father George Mueller officiating.Co-Celebrants were Father Gregory Moore, Malumjashi, Africa, Monsignor John Zenner, Pratt, Father Ultan Murphy, Medicine Lodge, and Father James Spexarth, St. Leo.
He was born March 14, 1900 To Eugene and Mary Schmidt at Catherine, Kansas and moved to Barber County as a Young boy. He Married Frances Ricke May 17, 1927 at Sharon He lived the remainder of his life in Harper and Barber Counties.
Survivors are his wife Frances, sons, Raymond, Edward, and Richard, all of Sharon, daughters, Mrs. Marieda Voegeli Russellville, Mo. Mrs Virginia Martin, Attica Ks., Sister Imelda,O.P. Nigeria, Africa, Mrs Joyce Stockert, Carroll, Iowa, Mrs. Rosalie Spade, Medicine Lodge Ks., Mrs.Ruth Ann Simon,Nashville, Ks., brothers H.J. Schmidt, Kingman, Alphonse Schmidt, Sharon, and Linus Schmidt, Junction City; sisters, Mrs. Pauline Patterson, Seligman, Mo., Mrs. Stella Rausch, Sharon, Mrs. Regina Feuerborn, Sidney, Nebr., Mrs. Regina Carl, Sidney, Nebr., and Mrs. Flora Ricke, Dodge City; 38 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by hia parents, Three brothers, Martin. Bill and Ed, and one grandchild.
