A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Raceland for Elina Theriot Babin, 93, a native and resident of Raceland who died at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until funeral time Friday at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
She was the mother of Alex and Louis Babin, Annie Pierce and Gladys Babin; sister of Gus Theriot, Hedwidge Melancon, Lydia Danos, Inez Boudreaux, Exie Waguespack and Ethel Foret.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Babin; parents. Mathilde Gaudet and Louis Theriot Sr.; a brother, Louis Theriot Jr.; a sister, Edna Degruise; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
