R.J. "Jack" Peterson, 94, passed from this life and went to join his wife and heavenly family Monday, Nov. 19, 2007.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Tuesday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials: charity of donor's choice.
Jack was an East Texas farm boy who traveled the South in his youth by rail and thumb.
He later had many professions as varied as a plumber and master barber, but found a calling in education, both secular and spiritual as a preacher, teacher and principal. An outstandingly loving husband, father and grandfather, he served God and man throughout his life.
He and Florine were married for 66 years until she passed in 2005.
Roswell J. Peterson was a 60-year master Mason in good standing with the Grand Lodge of Texas. He was a member of the Goose Creek Lodge 1192 in Baytown.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Florine; sister, Pauline Deason; parents, Samuel R. and Irene Peterson; and son-in-law, Richard B. Bubenheim.
Survivors: Daughter, Karen Bubenheim of Saginaw; sons, Samuel Peterson and wife, Linda of North Richland Hills, Nathan Peterson and his wife, Susan; granddaughter, Laura Michelle Stevens of North Richland Hills and her husband, Cpl. Joshua Stevens, USMC, stationed in Iraq.
