Mr. Frank C. Pepe, Jr., age 67, of Utica, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at the Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare Center with his loving and devoted family by his side. Born in Utica on November 21, 1941, Frank was the son of the late Frank, Sr. and Carmella V. (Luciano) Pepe. Raised and educated locally, he was a graduate of T. R. Proctor High School class of 1962. At one time, he served with the U.S. National Guard. On May 9, 1964, he was united in marriage with his high school sweetheart, the former Mary Ann T. Ogrodnik; their mutual devotion as each others best friend was the foundation of their 44 year union. Frank began his employment at Univac Corporation, and he was also instrumental in establishing and operating Terrace Park. For 21 years he was employed as a sales representative with DuBois Chemical Company. He recently worked for Zep Chemical Company until his retirement. A community-minded man, he was active and reliable, and served on the Utica Civil Service Commission for many years, an endeavor in which he took great satisfaction because he was able to help others. Franks success was due partly to the fact that he loved what he did, and he created friendships everywhere he went. But his greatest accomplishment in life was his family. Frank provided companionship and quality time to his loved ones. He could always be counted on for support and guidance, and his children relied on his good and sound advice during all those wonderful years. For recreation, he enjoyed playing golf with Mary Ann, which was his favorite pastime. He was a parishioner of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes. Frank is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Ann; his son and daughter-in-law, Frank J. and Kristen A. Pepe of Utica; his daughter and son-in-law, Mallory A. and James M. Oakes of Whitestown; his grandchildren, Michael Oakes of Utica, Jamie Oakes, and Kaylee Oakes, both of Whitestown; and his great-grandchild, Alexis Oakes. Survivors also include his sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Charles Perrotta, Sr. of Utica; several aunts; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves his sister-in-law, Selinda Ogrodnik of New Hartford, and brother-in-law, Frank A. and Maryanne Ogrodnik of Utica. Frank also leaves many dear friends, with special mention of his longtime neighbor and coffee partner, Jim. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Robert F. Ogrodnik. Franks funeral service will commence on Saturday morning at 8:00 from the funeral home and at 9:00 at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place in St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyrs Cemetery in Whitesboro.
