Mr. Paul Franklin Intino, 71, passed away with his loving family by his side on Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare.
Paul was born in Utica, New York, on January 30, 1937, the son of the late Frank L. and Anna Vincenza "Chinsey" (Costa) Intino. He was educated in local schools and was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. He served in the US Navy and Naval Reserve during the early sixties. Paul was employed in sales, selling mutual funds for PLM Securities, and was also a heavy equipment operator for many years working with the Operating Engineers Union. Paul also once worked as a sales representative beside his father in the family business at Kayser's Beauty Supply. Following his retirement, he was employed at L&L Surplus and Office Equipment and the Bank of Utica. In 1970, Paul was united in marriage to his beloved Linda Ann Grasso; a marriage of over thirty-eight years filled with the devotion and love of not only his wife but of her parents, the late Angelo and Angela Grasso as well.
Paul will always be remembered as a friend to everyone. He was the glue that brought everyone together. He gave of himself unconditionally, never expecting anything in return. Although he was loved and admired by his many friends, he was the rock of the family, always the "go-to-guy" and he loved being with his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Danielle, and at home with his wife, Linda, working side by side in their yard. His absence leaves a void that will be difficult to fill and he will never be forgotten by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Jeri Curro of MN; his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Danielle Intino of Utica; three grandchildren, Brianna, Mario, and Miranda Curro; six grandcats; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Gates and Eliza Intino of Rendondo Beach, CA and Mark Intino of Las Vegas; aunts and uncles, Jane Melchiorre, Mark Intino, and Al and Mary Stiffa, all of Utica; a sister-in-law, Marguerite and Mark Richardson of Boca Raton; and also many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially acknowledging his niece, Kim Intino and very close friends Toni Dimeo and Anthony Scalise.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Historic Old St. Johns Church with private entombment in Calvary Mausoleum.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St. in Utica.
The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to the staffs of St. Luke's Hospital and the Sitrin Home, and the many relatives and friends who have all been so supportive during this difficult time.
