DAVID C. Y. BOLLINGER, former highly esteemed resident of Boonsboro, died last Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bessie Alexander, Portsmouth, Va.
He was a member for 38 years of the Antietam Lodge, No. 197 A. F. and A. M. Keedysville, and was a member of the Lutheran church.
He is survived by son, Benjamin, Washington, D.C.; daughters, Mrs. Luther Derr, Frederick, and Mrs. Bessie Alexander, Portsmouth, Va.
The body was brought to Boonsboro Saturday and brief services were held at the grave in the Boonsboro cemetery on Sunday afternoon with Rev. Frank L. Stine officiating.
Mr. Bollinger was well known as a former business man at Boonsboro, having conducted the Commercial hotel, now Hotel Boone, a grocery store on the corner of St. Paul street, a dry goods store and later a gocery store in the building now occupied by O. J. Morgan & Son. Mr. Bollinger for a number of years carried the mail between Boonsboro and Keedyville.
