MARY JANE JOHNSON O'CONNER
Mary Jane Johnson was born at Soldier, Kansas, March 19, 1877, and departed this life May 15, 1905, age 29 years, 1 month and 26 days.

The deceased was a daughter of Alfred and Isabella Johnson. She was a very happy and agreeable person and made friends every where she went. In 1888 she was received into the M.E. Church and remained a member until her death.

Mary Johnson had lived in Soldier and vicinity all her life until about three years ago, when she went to Kansas City where she entered the Women's and Children's Hospital to take training for a nurse. She did well and was quite successful in her work until her health failed her over a year ago and she was compelled to give up her position and came home for rest, growing no better she returned to Kansas City, and was operated on fro Ex-opthaimic goitre and for a time mad rapid inprovement but again grew worse. On April 18th, she was married to Dr. Partrick O'Connor, a young man who had just completed his course of study in a medical school. They were to have left Kansas City in a few days for Eldorado, Kansas, when her fatal sickness came on and in just four weeks from the day she left Soldier to be married, she was brought back dead. The funeral was held from the Methodist Church Wed. May 16th, and largely attended by many friends and relatives,

The floral offerings were the most beautiful ever seen in Soldier, several large designs being sent from Kansas City and elsewhere by friends, nurses and other associates of the departed one and her husband.

The bereaved husband and relatives have the deepest sympathy of the entire community.
