Fred Buresh was born on the 10th of March 1860 in Limuzy, Bohemia. He came to America with his parents when his was one year and a half old. They settled in Linn county, Iowa. Here he lived until 1886, when in the spiring of the same year he moved to Howard county and settled near Saratoga. On the 28th of December of the same year he married Emily Kadlec, with whom he lived happily until his death. Their union was blessed with nine children of whom one daughter died at the age of three years.
While living at Saratoga, he was a loyal member of the Bohemian Presbyterian church and for twenty-four years he was an elder of the same. As an officer of the church he discharged his duties faithfully.
He leaves to mourn his death bis wife, five sons—Frank, Albin, William, Fred, Abner; three daughters—Agnes, (who is married to Rev. Marek) Emily, Nellie; two grandchildren, Grace and Benjamin two brothers, Mathias and John of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and many relatives. He died at his borne near Saratoga on the 3rd of January, 1820, at the age of 59 years, 9 months and 24 days. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. Havllk in the Bohemian Presbyterian, church at Saratoga on the 5th of January, 1920.

"How blest the righteous when he dies."
