Mildred was born to Ira Irvin May and Netta Raef May. When she was not quite 2 years old, her mother died shortly after giving birth to brother George which left her father with 4 small children. He raised the boys and Mildred and sister Rhea were raised by their uncle George Resch and aunt Josephine Resch, Netta's half-sister.
Mildred was the wife of A. Cletus (Clete)Jansen whom she married on 10-1-1938 in Newton. She was mother to two sons and one daughter, Mary Elizabeth, who died at birth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her guardian parents, one sister Rhea, and brothers Melvin and George.
She was survived by two sons; grandchildren; 3 half-sisters and three half-brothers.
Mildred was a homemaker and a loving mother. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and member of the Parish Council where she served as President of the council. She lived in Newton, Illinois, her whole life.
