Sarah Elizabeth Taylor was born in 1843 at Lees Creek, Arkansas to Hiram and Margaret Chitwood Taylor.

She was first married to Hosea Wilson about 1860 and to this marriage was born Victoria Wilson and Hosea Wilson.

She then married John Hawkins about 1866 and this marriage produced two daughters, Rhoda and Charlotte Hawkins.

She married Guilford Center on September 11, 1880 in Washington County, Arkansas.
To this union was born six children: Willis Center, Samuel Cooper Center, Hanna Center, Mary Melvina Center Poor, Martha Ellen Center Lane, and Charity Myree Center Parrish.
