Doris was the daughter of Elmer F and Ethel Marie Yocum Chrisman. She and her sister were orphaned in 1950, and they were raised by their paternal grandmother Beulah Still Chrisman. Doris graduated from Marceline High School in 1963. After graduation she moved to Kansas City, Mo where she met the love of her life, Edward L Adams. They were married Novemner 9, 1965. This Union was blessed with two children, Richard F Adams, and Ann Marie Adams.

Doris was a homemaker and enjoyed many pastimes. She was an accomplished artist, did beautiful embroidery, made many varieties of candy for family gatherings, and was dedicated to family and extended family . Her cooking skills will long be remembered.

In September 2009, Ed and Doris were faced with the loss of their daughter Ann, and are now raising her children.

Doris is survived by her husband, Ed; son, Richard and wife, Anne, Tampa, Florida; grandsons, Steven
Adams, Tampa, Florida, Austin Adams, Round Rock, Texas, Andre Adams, Independence, Mo; granddaughter, Kayla Andrea Smith, Independence, Mo.; sister Frances Chrisman Fish and husband, Lloyd, Kansas City, Mo.; nieces, Susan Renee Fish and husband, Kim Tharp, Overland Park, Ks, and Amy Fish, Kansas City, Mo; aunts, Ruth Boley, Marceline, Mo, Karen Chrisman, Brookfield, Mo. Leona Yocum, Marceline, Mo, and Bettie Boley and husbaand Dale, Marceline, Mo. sisters--in-law, Peggy Adams and husband, Ron Wyman, Mokane, Mo. Euphemia Adams Thompson, Jacksonville, Florida, June Kimble and husband, Pete of Fulton, Mo. Sheila Plaster, Ft Smith, RI, Cecilia Adams Pounds and husband, Billy, Franklinton, La; brothers-in-law, Ronald Adams, Franklinton, La, Dennis Plaster and wife Hope, McClure, Pa, and Gordon Plaster. Fulton, Mo, and many cousins, friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandmother who rised her, her daughter, Ann, and her nephew Mark Fish.

The family would like to thank St. Mary
s (Blue Springs, Mo) hospital staff for the excellent care and their kindness that they showed to both Doris and our families during her stay.In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions to St Mary's Hospital, 201 NW R D Mize Rd, Blue Springs, Mo 64014.

Memorial Services will be at 1:30 pm Thursday March 17, 2011 at New Salem Funeral Home, Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.
