This is my dear friend, Doot. I made a typo and wrote Doot instead of Dot. Sounds crazy, but we loved that error and laffed about it so many times over the years. This memorial will short-change Dot;so many good things about her will not be included in this tribute. She was such an intelligent, remarkable woman. Dot was in the Navy as a WAVE when she was a young woman. Dot got a college degree by working her way thru school. No one ever gave her anything-she earned it all herself. Dot was in charge of computers at UC Davis long before computers became popular. She also learned to fly a plane. I met Dot in a chatroom after she and her beloved cat, Squeezer, came back from their camper journey. Dot was living in Georgia at that time. It was not too far so I was able to go visit Dot and she came to stay at my house, too. I am happy to say we were real friends. One of Dot's favorite things was to watch the elephant cam on her computer. These critters live at the Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, Tenn. About 2004, Dot met a special person and moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma to begin another new journey. Then we learned the sad new that Dot had terminal lung cancer. In June 2006, a friend and I drove to Guthrie to say goodbye to Dot. She was same old funny, witty, smiling Dot. Never heard any complaints. It was wonderful to spend even a short time with her. Six weeks later, Dot made her transition. She has donated her body to science. If I am contacted with they are done with Doot, I will spread her ashes in California per Dot's wish.

(((Rod))) Special thanks for Dot's brother - Rodney Jack's post of addition Dot pictures. Rod was able to visit Dot in Guthrie a short time before her death to say goodbye. Dot always spoke of Rod with great affection.

I dream again, come the shadows; drown the whispers. I dream away know tomorrow. Let the night fall - close these eyes - wait for another day!
