Jairus WAID was named after his dec'd. brother Jairus who'd died as an infant in the same year as Jairus (2nd) was born. They were the sons of Warner WAID and his 2nd wife Susan PATTEN. Jairus (2nd) joined the Union Army in Co I 10th Pennsylvania RC (Regular? Calvary) and was Corporal when he died in service to his country at Harrison's Landing on the James River (where 140,000 of General McCLELLAN's troops had been stationed). Jairus is not actually interred in a grave at Hatch Cemetery where he shares a face of a four-sided memorial marker with his father and his father's first two wives. According to records of the Glendale National Cemetery, 8301 Willis Church Rd., Richmond, VA, 23231, he is buried at the national cemetery in Section C Grave 53.
