Elizabeth A. Anya, age 74, of Fort Collins, Colo., died November 23, 2011 at Poudre Valley Hospital. Cremation and a private gathering and celebration of her life were held Saturday with another gathering to be held next spring.

Elizabeth Anna Tholl was born May 23, 1937 in Hanover, Kan. to Lloyd and Elizabeth Tholl. After high school, she moved to Lincoln, Neb. to work; got married; and moved to Chicago where her first two children were born. She later moved back to Hanover, and her second two children were born. After raising her children, "Skip," "Liz" or "Mor Mor" (her nicknames) returned to college and attended the University of Nebraska. She soon joined the Peace Corps and taught business in Belize. She settled in Fort Collins and went on to receive her Masters Degree in Organic Agronomy at CSU. She then taught in Wyoming, New Mexico, Nebraska and Colorado and retired permanently just seven years ago.

In her retirement, Liz enjoyed her grandchildren and their activities, along with her long held passion for gardening and horticulture.

She is survived by her four children and their families: Carmen and Earl Spitsnogle, their children Ashley and Dexter Spitsnogle of Odell, Neb., Kevin Genschoreck of Fort Collins, Cindy and Mike Ollila and Cadie and Tony Ollila of Wellington, Colo. and Todd and Kathy Genschoreck of Fort Collins and their children, Rachel and Caitlin Genschoreck and Tara and John Boyle as well as their children, Liz's great-grandchildren, Emily, Jack, Noah and Casey Boyle. She is also survived her siblings, Lois Jean of Carson City, Nev., Franny (and Horace) Edwards of Topeka, Kan. and Michael (and Debbie) Tholl of Aurora, Colo.; a brother-in-law, Butch Bruna; a sister-in-law, Norma (and Ron) Raeber; and Dilbert, her dog. Liz was preceded in death by a sister Mary Jo Bruna and a brother, Lloyd Michael Tholl.

Liz's family requests that any memorial donations please be made to Elizabeth Anya Memorial (in care of Kevin Genschoreck, 1502 S Summit View Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80524) where it will be distributed to the family's choice.
