Funeral Services were held in the Apostolic Faith Church of Laverne on Sunday afternoon, July 21,1963 for Leona Pearle (Jett) Love who died Thursday afternoon in Oklahoma City, OK. Rev. Jack Barker and Rev. Jim Fox officiated at the service. Interment was in the Laverne cemetery with Seeger Funeral home of Laverne in of charge arrangements.

Leona Pearle Jett was born at College Hill,Osage County, Mo. on July 23, 1886. She was the eighth of nine children born to Joseph Jasper and Arrana Elizabeth (Lyles) Jett.
Leona Jett married Henry Alfred,on June 6,1911. Alfred was living Oklahoma on a relinquished claim he had bought. He and Leona had been childhood friends and when he attended the 1910 Worlds Fair at St. Louis, they renewed their acquaintence. Leona came to Oklahoma by train in June 1911. Alfred met her at Coldwater, Ks. where they were married. Alfred Lynn Love, grandson of Alfred and Leona Love, later became a teacher in the Coldwater School system.
Henry Alfred and Leona became the parents of Pearle Blanche (David) Ray, Oklahoma City; Earl Alfred (Eva) Love, Follett,TX; Goldie Violet (Chester)Kinser, May, OK; Jewelle Edna (Everette)Lake, Buffalo,Ok; and Ruby Rose (Bob)Wilson, Laverne, OK.

The Loves made their home on a farm northeast of Selman, Ok. until 1928 when they moved to Laverne. After moving to Laverne, Leona ironed clothes and cleaned houses to supplement the family income. After the children were married and her husband passed away, Leona spent time living with her son, Earl and his wife, Eva in Perryton, Tx. and Follett, Tx. caring for their children as they both held jobs outside the home. When her health began to fail in the late 1950's, Leona moved to Oklahoma City to live with her daughter Pearle Ray.

Leona was preceeded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 4 sisters, and her husband Henry Alfred Love. She is survived by one son, Earl of Follett,Tx. and four daughters, Pearle Ray of Oklahoma City, Ok.; Goldie Kinser of May, Ok.; Jewelle Lake, of Buffalo, Ok. and Ruby Wilson, of Lavene, Ok.; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
