FOLLETT - Eva Irene Love, 87, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, in Booker, Tx.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Follett Apostolic Church with M.D. Methvin officiating. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery by Scotty Schilling Funeral Directors of Follett.
Mrs. Love was born Jan. 2, 1923, in Hardesty, Okla., to Herbert L. and Ethyl Lieurance Shorb.
Eva was Salutatorian of the 1940 Hardesty High School graduating class. After graduation, she went to stay with her aunt and uncle, Allie and Lew Ewing in Laverne, Oklahoma where she worked as a waitress to earn money for college. During this time, she met and married Earl Alfred Love on Oct. 8, 1940, in Laverne, Okla.
She never made it to college, choosing to be a wife and mother instead. She worked as a telephone operator after she and Earl moved to Perryton, Texas. She also helped Earl in the grocery business after they purchased the Follett Food Market and moved to Follet, Texas in 1955.
Survivors include a sister, Emily Lile of Guymon, Okla.; three sons, Stanley (Darlene) of Follett, Glen (Reta) of Beaver Okla., and Alfred (Gail)of Early,Tx; a daughter, Rita (Ron)Pinckard of Booker; nine grandchildren, Shani Leigh Love Miller, Selinda Kay Love Dalegowski, Shane Andrew Pinckard, Douglas Lee Love, Troy Sutton Love, Tracy Lynn Love Pettit, Kristel Rene Pinckard Dunlap, Travis Earl Love and Kiley Brook Pinckard; and 15 great-grandchildren.
