Chuck served in the United States Air Force leaving there with the rank of A1C, E-4 on 1 June 1963. His work was on the FE series of fighter planes. His ability to procure items and learning to "jury-rig" (i.e. tinker with) things continued through out his life.
Chuck was proud to have been a California Highway Patrolman, where he graduated from the Cadet Training Class II of 1964. He was primarily a motor officer. (i.e. motorcycle)
He also had various jobs including: being an owner/operator of an 18 wheel rig hauling timber, a private investigator, and being a company (TransArrow/General Produce) operator of an 18 wheel rig hauling produce from the fields all across California to the distribution center in Sacramento.
He finished his work career as a civilian dispatcher for the California Highway Patrol.
Chuck was first married to Geraldine Ann Johnson (born 13 August 1942) and they had 4 children (3 daughters and 1 son). The first daughter has 2 sons. The second daughter has 2 sons and a daughter (who has a son). The son has a daughter and a son. The last daughter has (I believe) 5 children - number of their children unknown to manager at this time. The marriage was approximately 9 years, ending in divorce.
His second marriage was to Rose M. Zwicki Davis who had 1 daughter from a previous marriage whom Chuck adopted. This daughter is married and has children, although the number is unknown to this manager. The marriage was approximately 10 years ending in divorce.
Chuck's third marriage was to Janice Andrea Cook Davis on 24 December 1981. She had two children from her first marriage a daughter (who has a son), and a son (who has a daughter). Chuck adopted Janice's daughter. They were married 17 years the marriage ended due to Chuck's death.
Chuck loved computers (often helping out friends and neighbors with their computer woes), music, movies, his 'harley', photography, and in his last years, model trains and the older model boat which was at his lake residence. Somewhere during the early to mid 1980's Chuck restored a 1950 Chevy pick-up truck.
