George, who resided at 202 West Twenty-fifth Street, Wilmington, Delaware, served as a Staff Sergeant with the 489th Bomber Squadron, 340th Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He enlisted in the Army on April 18, 1942 at Fort Dix, New Jersey and was noted as Single, without dependents.
He "Died Of Wounds" received in the bombing of an airfield on Corsica while serving as a grounds crewman.
He had served in the Air Corps for two years and one month at the time of his death and was decorated with a Purple Heart, Presidental Unit Citation, and the African and European Campaign Ribbons with two stars.
