Husband of Rosebud Lee Marshall Bell.

James, who resided at 1117 Kirkwood Street, Wilmington, Delaware, served as a Private with Company D, 405th Infantry Regiment, U.S. Army, during World War II.

He enlisted in the Army on August 17, 1943 in Camden, New Jersey and was noted as Married.

He was "Killed In Action" at Immendorf, Germany during fighting. He had served with the Army for one year and two months at the time of his death.

He was decorated with the Purple Heart.
