James, who resided in Wilmington, Delaware, served as a Private, Battery B, 27th Field Artillery Battalion, 1st Armored Division, U.S. Army during World War II.
He enlisted in the Army on October 24, 1941, prior to the war, at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was noted as being employed in the manufacture of textiles and also as being Single, without dependents.
He was "Killed In Action" in Italy during the war.
He had served in the Army for three years and five months at the time of his death and was decorated with a Purple Heart.
