Son of Samuel Scott and Bessie Clark Scott.

William, who resided on New Street, Dover, Delaware, served as a Private with Battery C, 108th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion, U.S. Army during World War II.

He enlisted in the Army on January 18, 1943 in Camden, New Jersey. He was noted as being employed in the Baking industry and as being Single, with dependents.

He was "Killed In Action" near Naples, Italy during the war.

He had served in the Army for one year and one month at the time of his death and was decorated with a Purple Heart.
