Death: Apr. 7, 1943

Son of Willard Springer Sharpless and Margaret Baxter Sharpless. Husband of Patricia Ann Wilson Sharpless. Charles, who resided in Wilmington, Delaware, served as a Captain with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was "Killed In Action" over North Africa during the war. He had served in the Air Corps for two years and five months and was decorated with an Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Distinquished Flying Cross, and a Purple Heart.
