Stanley served as a Corporal on B-24J Liberator #42-109868), 112th Base Unit, Westover Field, Massachusetts, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Bronx County, New York prior to the war.

Stanley enlisted in the Army Air Force on February 4, 1944 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was noted as being employed as a Stock Clerk and also as Single, without dependents.

Stanley died in the "Line Of Duty" when his B-24 caught fire and made a crash landing near Granby, Massachusetts during the war. Two others also died with him on this flight:
