Daughter of Harriet Elizabeth Wilson and Miles Linton. She had 1 older half-sister, Mary Elizabeth Linton (1835–1857), who married Lafayette John McInnis, had 3 children and died before Angie was born. Angie's 2 older half-brothers are Elisha James Linton (b. 1833) and Louis Berry Pickett (1839–1908). Of her 5 other siblings, the 3 older children died young in 1862. Angie, her younger brother Andrew Miles (b. 1863), and younger sister, Harriet Ellen (b. 1865), grew up in Lauderdale County, Mississippi.

Angie and sister Harriet Ellen married brothers, in Lauderdale County. Angie married George Henry Oliver Smith in 1879, and Harriet married Louis Smith in 1882. In 1880 the young couple, Angie and GHO, were living in Scott County, Mississippi, next to his parents, Oliver and Nancy Smith. By 1900 they were in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, where they were listed with 5 children (her first 4 children had died young). By 1910, Angie had had 11 children and 6 were living. The family moved again before 1920, when they were listed in Sabine Parish, Louisiana, where Angie died in 1922. George H.O. Smith died in 1930 and is buried in Pachuta, Clarke County, Mississippi.
