At some point between 1900 and 1911, Ralph immigrated to Alberta, Canada, where he bought a farm. He was married to Catherine (maiden name unknown) prior to 1910, as by that year they had their first child. It is not known if Catherine was American or Canadian born. The Canadian Census recorded the Crows as residents of Canada in 1911.
In 1915, Ralph's brother, John Crow and his family, moved to Canada at Ralph's request. Ralph claimed the farming in Alberta was far superior to the farming in Oregon, where the two brothers were born and raised.
