Death: Apr. 13, 1945

Son of George White and Minnie Bole White who resided in Viola, Delaware.

Husband of Alice G. Hermanson White.

George, who resided in the District of Columbia prior to the war, served as a Staff Sergeant with Company G, 331st Infantry Regiment, 83rd Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He was "Killed In Action" crossing the Elbe River in Germany. He had served in the Army for three years and eleven months at the time of his death and was decorated with a "Silver Star" and Purple Heart with one Oak Leaf Cluster.

I knew his sister, Ethna, who worked with my dad. Did not know he was in Arlington Cemetery. He died 66 years ago today. RIP George White.
