John served as a 1st Lt. and Pilot on B-24M Liberator (#44-51318), 307th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Baltimore, Maryland prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on February 21, 1943 in Miami Beach, Florida. He was noted as being Single, without dependents.

He was killed in an airplane accident in Guam while serving as a Pilot.

He may, or may not, have had multiple awards. He had flown a number of other combat missions during the war.
