Son of Harriet T. Masincupp who resided in Chevy Chase, Maryland during the war.

Byron served as a Radioman, Third Class, U.S.S. Shark (SS-314), U.S. Navy during World War II.

He resided in the District of Columbia prior to the war.

He was declared "Missing In Action" when the Shark was sunk by Japanese destroyer Harukaze off Taiwan during the war. He was awarded a Purple Heart.

Service # 6036313

He also has a "Cenotaph" in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia. For that record:
