J. Maurine Wattenbarger, 86, St. Joseph, died Friday, Nov. 5, 1999, at a local hospital.
Born Sept. 2, 1913, in Milan, Mo., she lived in St. Joseph most of her life.
Mrs. Wattenbarger was a member of Bethel Foursquare Church, St. Joseph, where she taught Sunday school.
On June 15, 1929, she married Claude G. Wattenbarger. He died in 1979.
Mrs. Wattenbarger also was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia M.; her father James Courtney; and her mother, Othal Decker.
Surviving: two daughters, Geraldine M. Parrish, Compton, Calif., and Linda F. Ellis, St. Joseph; four sons, Claude E., Jack D., and David R., all of St. Joseph, and Paul C., Kansas City; two brothers, Frank and Ralph Hughes, both of Seattle, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Service: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Bethel Foursquare Church, St. Joseph. Burial: Mount Auburn Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation: after 11 a.m. today, Meierhoffer Family Funeral Service, St. Joseph, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight. The body will be moved to the church one hour before the service. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Bethel Foursquare Church.
