Kim Lee Kent Sr., the son of the late Edward C. Kent Sr. and Katherine Lockman Kent, was called home by God on Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Affectionately known as "Yodie Scody", was born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 6, 1956.
Kim received his education in the Baltimore City School System. He developed his love for wrestling at the McKim Recreation Center He continued wrestling at Paul Laurence Dunbar Community High School and won the MSA Championship in the 100lbs. weight class in 1974.
After graduating from Paul Laurence Dunbar Community High School, he began his career at the Social Security Administration where he was employed for over 30 years.
Kim always said he was fortunate to have two lives...the one he chose and the one God had for him. While living the life that he chose he found arelationship with God which ultimately led him to a 12-step process of recovery in December, 1995. Thereafter he remained clean and sober from that day forth. His success of his recovery led him to be an inspiration and sponsor to others.
Kim was stead-fast in faith and service to God. He became a devoted member of Bethel AME Church under the leadership of the Reverend Dr. Frank Reid III where he served on the Security and Dance Ministries, until health challenges presented him from doing so.
Kim was an awesome father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle, friend, sponsor, co-worker and performer. He truly loved his family and friends. His loyalty, love and devotion were immeasurable. He believed that in order to have good friends, he would need to be a great friend. He was considerate, kind and loving. He had a passion for acting and singing, which led him to perform in serveral plays, "SSA Color Purple and Ain't Misbehavin". he will always be remembered as a member of the Metro West Temps and his renditions of James Brown, Tina Turner and Little Richard. Kim was also an avid sports fan and he loved the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens.
We shall miss his love, encouragement, outgoing personality and big smile. We will forever honor his legacy of: devotion to family. Kim leaves to cherish his memories his two sons Kim Jr. and Kenard Johnson; five grandchildren Armani, Kendall, Ashley, Kenard Jr. and Madison; two sisters Judith Winters and Denise Crawford; two brothers Arthur and Todd Kent Sr.; brother-in-law Darryl Winters; an aunt Joan Lockman; a host of neices, nephews and cousins. A special devoted friend Christie Evans. He will also be affectionately remember by the Loch Raven Group, his sponsor Wayne Cobb and Desiree Kellan who he fondly referred to as his neice.
