"Fort Worth- Wardell Loyd, 88, a retired Texas & Pacific railroad employee, died Saturday, March 1, 1997, at home.
Wardell Loyd was born Aug 24, 1908, in Waxahachie, TX
Mr. Loyd graduated from Oaklawn High School in Waxahachie. He was a faithful and devoted member of Pilgrim Valley Baptist Church, where he sang with the male chorus and was a member of the Usher Board No.2 He was a VETERAN OF WWII. He was a lifelong member of the NAACP, a member of the American Legion Post No. 838, and was an active member of the Senior citizens, Fellowship Corner, where he served as a volunteer on the Center Council, the Nutrition program, and sang with the Fellowship Harmonizers Group.
Survivors: Wife, nieces, nephew, three great-nieces and three great-nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
