Civil War Vet: Private; Isaac served in Co E, 186th Ohio Infantry. He enlisted at the age of nineteen on 13 February, 1865 and was mustered on 27 February 1865. He was mustered out 18 September 1865 at Nashville, Tennessee. The 186th Ohio Infantry was organized at Camp Chase, Ohio, in February 1865, and was mustered out on 25 September 1865. At the Lodi Cemetery, Orange Township, Kalkaska County, Michigan, his grave is marked with a Civil War Miltary Headstone, and G.A.R. flag holder.

NOTE: Two of his grandsons served in WW 11 in the same Infantry unit.
