NEWPORT and HOLDEN, State of Maine: - Rosalie Glenn Smith-Temple-Mulligan-Lantay, 81, died peacefully April 15, 2010, at her home with her devoted daughter OLIVIA WEAVER LANTAY HOWELL by her side. She was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Washington, D.C., the youngest of 3 daughters (Francis D. Mary W. & Rosalie G. to Navy Captain Glenn Albert SMITH retired & the FORMER Mary Decker both of whom proceeded her in death.
She graduated from Juillard School of Music, and was a cellist for Juillard Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Erie Philharmonic Orchestra. Rosalie "Rose" also enjoyed playing mostly classical music on her piano.
Married three times, Robert P. Temple. New York City, Francis Conway Mulligan 4/18/1953, Billings, Montana M/L #28956, Bk 348. pg 229. and George Sylvester Lantay 11/12/1957, Pensacola, Escambria County, Florida M/L #16592, Bk 84, Pg 312. She was the mother of four children, 3 sons and a daughter, all her sons preceeding her to the spirit world. She'll sadly be missed by her daughter; granddaughter, her surviving sister, and friends.
A graveside committal service was held at the Riverside Cemetery, Newport, ME.
