She was an amazing woman.

She was from a large family and was herself the mother of 6, but little Robin passed away while an infant. She juggled 5 children, a career as a CNA, and primary care-taker of her sister that has Cerebal Palsy.
She was a wonderful cook, and a terrific mom. She always had time to bake cookies, give hugs, go to school sporting events, or go to the farm to help with canning, quilting, and to help cook the big family Sunday dinners.

She loved to go to yard sales, often going on Saturday's with her mother, aunt and whichever sister's could go that day. She also like to play bingo in her later years.

She was a very loving, giving woman, and her family was her main world. She went to almost every single sporting event, class trip, and was the first to stand up and cheer when one of her children would score during basketball or football. She always made time to be room mother for her children in school, she was on the PTA, and helped organize the bake sales and school fund raising events.

She spent her career taking care of disabled adults, which is a career she became interested in while she was quite young due to her sister's disability. From what I have been told from the Adult Care Center in town, that there was no one who understood or cared for the disabled better than she did.

She passed away from complications due to Diabetes. She is deeply loved and sadly missed from all who knew her, especially her family.

My Rock (My Mom)
Sometimes I catch myself
Thinking, "When I phone,
I can talk of this or that!"
Then remember, I'm alone

She was always there
To answer my calls -
To listen to my "small talk"
Or when I climbed the walls.

At times, I didn't feel like talking
And somehow, she understood -
Didn't say she wished I'd call
Or make me feel like I should.

Now, I wish I would have
More times, to show I cared -
To say, just how important
Were, all those times we shared.

I could have shown my love
So much more than I did -
I never, did it enough
Even when I was a kid.

Now it's too late to do or say
All those things I wish I had -
No way to ease the pain inside
When my heart is sad.

She was my "anchor" to this life -
The "rock", that I clung to -
The place, where I could turn
When, nowhere else would do.
Now, the ravages of time
Have worn my "rock" away -
And all I have to cling to
Are memories of yesterday.

We miss you Mom. Your always with us in our hearts. I saw a robin yesterday, so spring is right around the corner and with it will be Easter, which was one of your favorite holidays.
