Went home, June 4th, 1890, Charity Anderson aged seventy five years, four months and nineteen days.
Charity Pounds was born in Gurnsey County, Ohio, January 15, 1815. She was married to the Rev. Robert Anderson, June 30, 1830. They moved to Mason County, Illinois, in 1846 and resided there until 1879; when they came to Boone County, Iowa. Her husband died May 6, 1881 since which time she has resided with her children. Deceased joined the M.E. church in 1835, and has since led a consistent Christian life. She was the mother of twelve children; three sons and nine daughters, of whom five live to mourn the loss of a loving mother. She was stricken with paralysis, and during her illness bore her suffering patiently. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Jones, of the M.E. church of Perry, and she was laid to rest in Fairview cemetery, Union township.
