Taken from the 1976 Watertown Daily Times "A Bicentennial Tribute To Veterans Of 1776" salute to Revolutionary War Veterans buried in Jefferson county and found at the Jefferson county genweb page;

John Prentice was born 27 Aug 1734 and he married Dorothy Sexton 25 January 1762 in Somers, Tolland, CT. He died 6 Jun 1810 and was buried in the South Champion Cemetery, Town of Champion.

Found on in the Sons of the American Revolution Applications, national # 25200;

Service; John Prentice in 1776 enlisted in Connecticut Militia as a Private serving Captains Nathan Hine's Company, 13th regiment. He was corporal in Captain Jonathan Calkin's company, Colonel Latimer's regiment, 1777, for services at Saratoga.
