Max Everett Hutsell of Aberdeen died March 6 at Harford Memorial Hospital. He was 68.
He was born in Athens, Tenn., and was a son of the late William and Willie Mae Snyder Hutsell. He was a husband to the late Sylvia Parker Hutsell.
Mr. Hutsell served in the Navy from 1957 to 1976, with one tour in Vietnam. He achieved the rank of senior chief petty officer. After the Navy, he was in the information systems computer field at Aberdeen Proving Ground and Saks. He first started operating computers when they were in their early stages in the 1960's.
He was an avid golfer and as active member of the chapel at Aberdeen Proving Ground, where he was an usher and a member of the Men's Fellowship Group. He is survived by sons, Max "Chip" Hutsell, of Baltimore, Mike Hutsell, of Belcamp, David Hutsell and his wife, Patricia, of Baltimore; a grandchild, Madeleine Hutsell, of Baltimore; sisters, Nellie Mae Kiker-Sliger, of Athens, Tenn., and Caroline Pemberton, of Nashville, Tenn.; brothers, W.C. Hutsell and Robert J. Hutsell, both of Athens, Tenn., and Charles "Buddy" Hutsell, of Nashville, Tenn.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by a sister, Mary Ruth Hutsell.
A memorial service will be at the Aberdeen Proving Ground Chapel Tuesday, March 11, at 7 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will be on Wednesday, March 12, 11:30 a.m. at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery in Owings Mills.
