She was born in Trinidad, Texas, on Sept. 28, 1927, to Edward and Viva Naughton. In grade school, she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, later graduating from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in political science.
On Feb. 7, 1953, she married Walter D. Bauchman. After living briefly in Corvallis, Ore., they moved to Idaho Falls, where they were in a partnership in Idaho Falls Electric with Bob and Alice Bauchman. Later, they owned and operated Heyrend Construction.
Barbara enjoyed painting, a rousing game of bridge, Sunday picnics in Bone and traveling. She will always be remembered for her enjoyment of art (her children and friends are the beneficiaries of her many paintings), and she was packed and ready when someone said, "Road trip!" She is survived by her children, Marty (Patty) of Albuquerque, N.M., Pat (Steve) VanderVorste of New Braunfels, Texas, Ann of Helena, Mont., Michelle of Seattle, Wash., and Kay Pace (Carl) of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, John (Jen) Jenkins, Carly Jenkins, Stephanie, Stacy and Brian VanderVorste, and Daniel and Leslie Bauchman; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Alice Bauchman; and brother-in-law, Eugene Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, "Bud" Bauchman; parents, Edward and Viva Naughton; and sister-in-law, Ann Marie Mitchell.
