Russell Milton Hartman served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Medical Corps, United States Army during World War II.

He was a son of Milton E. Hartman and Kate I. (Bailey) Hartman.

He entered active service with the U.S. Army on July 2, 1942 at Ft. Dix, New Jersey.

He received his discharge from the Army on December 1, 1945 at Northington General Hospital, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

He was originally from Fleetwood, Pennsylvania.

He was married to Mildred I. Springer in 1929 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

His last place of residence was in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania.

He was interred in the Gettysburg National Cemetery on July 31, 1969.
