Edward Carl Clobus, Jr. was born on September 5, 1926 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Edward Carl and Eva May (Croup) Clobus, Sr. He was baptized on April 24, 1927 at First United Presbyterian Church of Allegheny, PA and attended local schools.
Ed moved with his family to Maryland when he was 9, where he continued his education. He graduated from Hyattsville High School early because of his call up for military service at the end of World War II. He served in the United States Navy and the United States Navy Reserve from March 1945 until May 1953. His discharge recognition's from active service included the Pacific Theater ribbon, the American Theater ribbon and the Victory Medal.
Edward Clobus worked for the Central Intelligence Agency for his entire career, serving from September 1947 until June 1978. It was at the CIA that he met Marie Entzian where they were both employed and they were married on August 20, 1949. They moved to Falls Church, Virginia in 1955 and purchased the home on Oakwood Drive where he lived for 49 years. Edward Clobus became a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church on April 8, 1979.
His wife Marie preceded him in death on August 4, 1995. He died at Hospice of Northern Virginia on May 26, 2004, after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by a son Raymond Carl, a daughter Diane Marie Dean and grandchildren Laura Marie Dean, Scott Nathan Dean and Eric Matthew Dean.
Ed enjoyed bowling and pitching horseshoes during his working years. If there was a passion that described Ed in retirement, it was golf. Two, three, even four games a week were not too many. If there are golf courses in Heaven, we'll know where to find him!
