Mrs. Poland and her husband owned and operated many varied businesses in Springfield from 1920 through 1960, including a grocery store at Amos and Jefferson until 1939 and Poland's Haven Motel on Business Route 66 from 1939 until their retirement in 1960. She was a member of West Side Christian Church for many decades and a lead singer for the Lewis Memorial Kitchen Band for many years.
Survivors: a daughter, Mrs. Keith (Cleo) Adams of Springfield; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services: Ellinger-Kunz and Davis Funeral Home, the Rev. Charles Lee officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
